Miss J’s Couples Boudoir Experience
I’d Done Boudoir Twice Before. This Time, I Brought My Husband.
Let me start by saying this wasn't my first rodeo. This was actually my third Boudoir by Constance experience. I'd already done two solo sessions with Constance, so when I started thinking about doing a couples session, I already knew exactly who I wanted to do it with. My husband was totally on board with the idea, too—which definitely made taking that leap a whole lot easier.
Although, between the two of us, I wasn't the nervous one this time. 😂
Since I had already worked with Constance twice before, I knew I was going to be completely at ease. My husband? A little nervous. I kept telling him, "Don't worry. Constance will tell us exactly what to do."
And she did.
From Nervous to “Oh, This Is Fun”
The whole session day felt absolutely amazing. From hair and makeup with Bri to getting in front of the camera and being coached through every pose, Constance and Bri are just fantastic at what they do.
One of the things I love about working with Constance is that you don't have to know what you're doing.
You don't have to walk into the studio already knowing how to pose. You don't have to be naturally comfortable in front of a camera. And you definitely don't have to worry about whether you and your partner are going to look awkward. That's literally what Constance is there for.
And while I'd experienced that during my first two sessions, there was something different about doing it as a couple. This was my first time doing a couples session, and honestly?
It turned out even better than I expected.
I think part of that was because I already knew what the experience was going to be like. I trusted Constance. I knew she'd guide us through it. So instead of worrying about what we were supposed to do, we could actually be present and enjoy being there together.
And Then There Were the Photos...
The Image Reveal was a lot like my previous two experiences—except this time there was another participant to consider. 😂 But seeing the images was just as exciting. There is something about seeing yourself through someone else's eyes that is hard to explain until you experience it.
You can walk into a boudoir session thinking about all the things you normally notice about yourself. The.[[ little things you might pick apart in the mirror. The things you think need to be different. Then you see the photographs. And suddenly you're not looking at those things anymore. You're just looking at you. Confident. Beautiful. Sexy. Powerful.
And maybe standing next to the person you love makes that feeling even more special.
But I Had One More Surprise Up My Sleeve
There was one thing I knew I wanted to do with one of our images.
I purchased a painting of one of our photographs as a surprise for my husband.
Yes—a painting.
It's one of the luxury add-ons available through Boudoir by Constance, and I was SO excited to be able to have one of our images turned into a piece of art.
Because let's be honest, how often do you get to turn a boudoir photograph into something that feels like an actual piece of artwork?
I can't wait to give it to him.
And I love that this experience gave me something that wasn't just for my own collection of photographs. It gave me something beautiful and tangible that I could surprise my husband with, too.
So, Would I Tell You to Do It?
Absolutely. Go for it. If you're nervous, Constance will coach you through it. Every pose. Every movement. Every moment where you're thinking, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing right now.
She'll get you through it. And the feeling of empowerment you get when you see your images? It's a much-needed boost for anyone going through a major life situation. Whether you're navigating perimenopause or menopause, anxiety, PTSD, a health concern, abuse, or simply a season of life where you've lost sight of yourself a little bit...
Do it.
Give yourself the opportunity to see yourself differently. Sometimes you don't realize how much you've been missing that version of yourself until you see her staring back at you. And maybe, like me, you'll discover that you want to do it again.
Just bring your husband next time. 😉
