“Wow, That’s Me?” — A Boudoir Experience That Changed the Way She Saw Herself

There’s something incredibly powerful about doing something that scares you a little.

Not because you have something to prove, but because sometimes the things that push us outside of our comfort zone are the very things that remind us just how capable, beautiful, and confident we really are.

When she first reached out to Boudoir by Constance, she had never experienced anything like this before. She knew she wanted to do something for herself—something different, something meaningful, and something that would challenge the way she saw herself.

After seeing my work and the way I capture women’s confidence and beauty, she decided it was time to take the leap. And, as she put it, it truly was a leap of faith.

Before Her Boudoir Experience

Before her session, she was nervous.

There were plenty of thoughts running through her mind: How would she look? Would she feel confident in front of the camera? Would she really be comfortable doing something so far outside of her normal routine?

Those feelings are completely normal.

So many women arrive at their boudoir session with the same questions and uncertainties. They wonder if they are confident enough, comfortable enough, or somehow “the type” of woman who belongs in front of a boudoir camera. The truth is—you don't have to arrive feeling confident.

That's part of the experience. You simply have to be willing to show up as you are.

From Nervous to “I’m Having So Much Fun”

Once her session day arrived, something shifted.

From the moment she sat down for hair and makeup, the experience began to feel less like something intimidating and more like a day completely devoted to her.

She described getting ready as a fun experience that helped her step into a completely different version of herself.

And then came the posing.

One of the biggest concerns women have before a boudoir session is, “What am I supposed to do?”

You don't need to know. That's my job.

With posing guidance throughout the session, she never felt like she had to figure out what to do on her own. Instead, she felt comfortable, supported, and free to simply enjoy the experience.

And perhaps the biggest surprise of all?

She had fun.

She came into the studio expecting to feel extremely nervous and uncomfortable. Instead, she found herself coming out of her shell much faster than she expected.

What she thought might feel intimidating became empowering.

“Wow, That’s Me?”

Then came the Image Reveal.

This is one of my favorite parts of the entire boudoir experience because it's often the first time a woman gets to see herself completely differently.

She expected that she might immediately start looking for everything she didn't like about herself.

Instead, she looked at her images and thought:

“Wow, that’s me?”

Those four words say so much.

Because sometimes we become so accustomed to seeing ourselves through a critical lens that it can be difficult to recognize the woman everyone else sees.

The woman who is beautiful.

The woman who is confident.

The woman who is worthy of being celebrated exactly as she is.

Seeing her images gave her an opportunity to step outside of that familiar self-criticism and see herself through a completely different lens.

She felt proud, confident, beautiful and perhaps most importantly, she realized she was capable of seeing herself that way.
